MASTERING LIGHT

Hands-on training on how to master your speed light in order to shoot well exposed images in ANY environment and with limited equipment. Learn how to bounce light, even in the dark without pointing the flash directly at the subject! Watch as we shoot, then shoot on your own and ask questions as we go. (Portraits of people & details)

Off Camera Flash -> Hands-on training on how to shoot with off-camera flash. Learn how to set it up, equipment needed for both Cannon AND Nikon users, and the proper settings to achieve your desired look. Watch as we set it up & shoot, practice for yourself and ask questions as we go. (Portraits of people & details)

 

LAY FLATS ON THE FLY

Learn from a professional stationer how to design creative invitation lay-flats under limited time constraints, similar to that of a wedding day. Figure out what available elements you should include in your lay flat, as well as, essential items that you should keep in your “wedding day toolkit” in order to create gorgeous lay flats on the day of the event. PLUS! Participate in hands-on break-out sessions creating a variety of lay flats from extravagant invitation suites to single card save-the-dates and/or invitations. All images captured are yours to use for your online portfolio.

 

Post Processing

Here’s where the magic happens! Watch as Nicee walks you through her own post production process.

  • Learn how to create radiant skin tones for medium & darker complexions without skin-lightening.

  • How to create sharp, clean images and editing tips to streamline your post process.

  • Lastly, learn my favorite Photoshop tips & tricks and how to tackle the age old client request of “make me look skinny”.

What You’ll Need to Bring

In order to get the most out of this experience, photographers need to come to the workshop with the following equipment:

  • DSLR / professional grade camera (rent one if necessary -> Helix)

  • Speedlights (2)

  • Light stand(s)

  • Laptop w/ Adobe Lightroom and/or Photoshop

If you do not have a professional grade camera, please consider renting one prior to the workshop. Helix Camera in Itasca, IL is our trusted camera rental shop.
